In the
20s and 30s, it was the destination for many wealthy Chicago
residents. Hotels, marinas, liquor stores, restaurants, and
the Midway ballroom ringed the lake. The Red
Cedars Museum has many pictures and artifacts from the past.
Today,
there are only four marinas. Purchase a fishing license at
the True Value on Lakeshore Drive and bait is available at
Zip and True Value. Special events during 4th of July, Summer,
and Christmas.
